The Egadi archipelago, located 15 miles west of the coast of Sicily, includes the islands of Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo and the islets of Maraone and Formica.
The climate is mild and dry in the spring months, while the hot and prolonged summers are mitigated by a pleasant sea breeze in the alternation of the north, north, north, north, north and north winds.
Since 1999, with its 1523 square kilometres, the Egadi Archipelago has been the largest Marine Reserve in Italy, and its sea, due to the hydrodynamic conditions of the seabed, is among the clearest and cleanest in the Mediterranean.
